Rules for Learning

Rule #1: Empty your cup so that it may be refilled. No teacher can add to a mind that is already full.

Rule #2: Listen to the words but hear the lessons. Walk the lines but read between them.

Rule #3: When all else fails, slow down. It is better to correct. Speed and power will come in their own time.

Rule #4: A Home is built from the ground up. So too is Knowledge. Finish the foundation before you raise the roof.

Rule #5: Repeat after me, repeat after me, repeat after me; until your echo becomes the voice.

Rule #6: Patience is a Virtue and first among many. Take it to heart and make it your own.

Rule #7: Something given has no value. Only through Work does a thing earn its worth.

Rule #8: Work hard, play harder. When the answers won't come, take a break. The fresh perspective of a rested mind will often detect what the tenacious spirit may overlook.

Rule #9: Pride cometh before the fall; maintain your balance; keep your perspective.

Rule #10: Remember, perfection may be the goal, but the objective is in the journey.
